Sparkle on Ice: Inside The Glide Collection, Embellished with Crystals by Swarovski®

Some collections start with a trend report. This one started with a picture: a salt lake at night, so still it becomes a mirror, the Milky Way lying across it like something a child could skate through. The Glide Collection brings that picture to the rink — featherlight figure-skating knits for kids, embellished with Crystals by Swarovski® that follow every spin, glide and jump.

It's the first time moodytiger has brought Crystals by Swarovski® onto the ice, and we did it the way we do everything: movement first, sparkle second. Ten pieces, built to be trained in, arriving as a limited release. Here's the story behind them — and a look at every piece.

A galaxy, mirrored on ice

Figure skating already looks like light in motion. Watch a kid carve a first clean arc and you'll see it: the blade writes, the ice answers. The design team kept returning to one image while sketching this collection — a flooded salt flat on a windless night, water a few centimeters deep, stars doubled top and bottom, a horizon that quietly disappears.

That image set the palette. Grape-grey purple, the color of dusk over a still lake, is the signature shade. Around it: an ice-gradient blue, deep charcoal, cloud white and a muted berry. No neon, no shouting — a quiet palette in a famously loud category, which is very much on brand for us.

Light that follows motion

The crystals aren't sprinkled on for effect. They're placed along the body's natural lines of motion — the sweep of an arm, the line of a landing leg — so the light moves when the skater does. Mid-spin, they read as a streak; gliding, as a shimmer keeping pace. Since 1895, Swarovski has stood for exceptional innovation, and the precision is visible at arm's length: every crystal sits exactly where movement will carry it.

Underneath the shine is the part we sweat over: featherlight knits with four-way stretch that extend with bent knees and mid-air rotations, piqué and micro-jacquard textures that channel sweat out fast, brushed double-face fabrics that hold warmth against rink chill, and stretch-mesh panels where arms need air. None of the bulk of traditional skate-wear — gliding stays light and fluid.

The collection, piece by piece

Girls' tops

The On ice Long Sleeve with mesh-panel sleeves is the one that moves like wings — stretch mesh opens with every reach and turn, quick-dry jacquard keeps laps comfortable, and it comes adorned with Crystals by Swarovski® that turn when she does. Its sister piece, the butterfly-hem On ice Long Sleeve, trades mesh for a flowing back panel that lifts in a spin, with a subtle crystal line along the shoulder of the movement.

For colder rinks, the girls' On ice Color Block Jacket is fleece-lined with a panel hem that flares on rotation — warmth that doesn't sit still, embellished with Crystals by Swarovski® tracing the turn.

Boys' pieces

The On ice Quarter Zipped Long Sleeve has a brushed, warm inside, a zip for lesson-to-lobby transitions, and it comes embellished with a quiet, restrained touch of Crystals by Swarovski® — sharp, not showy. The boys' On ice Color Block Jacket brings structure in a breathable mini-check knit with zip pockets that keep small treasures on the ice, decorated with crystals along its clean lines.

And the On ice Skating Pants skip the sparkle entirely, on purpose: warm brushed double-face knit, ankle zips that pull on over skates, and a skate-ready heel strap. Matte, mobile, all business.

Girls' bottoms

The On ice Color Block Skating Pants solve the small stuff that ruins practice: no front seam to dig in, grip tape at the hems so nothing rides up over boots, four-way stretch through every sit spin — finished with crystals in a fine trace down the leg. Prefer a longer line? The Cloudie Essential Bootcut Leggings are cloud-soft Brizi® Mist knit with a gentle flare that lengthens every landing pose, embellished with Crystals by Swarovski® catching light mid-glide.

The finishing touches

The Cover Up Skirt layers over leggings with a flowing asymmetric hem and a comfortable elastic waist — the piece that makes an outfit feel like a costume without the costume fuss. And the Gloves do double duty: grippy silicone palms for confidence on the ice, soft high-stretch knit for warmth, dazzling with Crystals by Swarovski® at every wave to the bleachers.

Details skaters actually feel

The shine gets the photos, but the details win the practice hours: thumbhole cuffs that keep sleeves down through spins, ankle zips that mean boots go on first and pants second, hems that stay put without bunching, palms that grip a rail on a wobbly day. These are rink-tested annoyances, solved quietly.

Rinks run cold and effort runs hot, so every piece is built for both directions at once — warmth that breathes, sweat that leaves, stretch that never tugs back. If you're building a full cold-rink kit beyond the collection, our ice skating outfits line covers the training basics.

Sizing, quickly

Fit for skating should be close but never tight — crystals or not, the fabric has to move first. If you're converting between sizing systems, our kids' size conversion chart translates everything in one place.

Questions, answered

Which pieces carry the crystals?

Nine of the ten. Every girls' piece, both boys' tops and the gloves are embellished with Crystals by Swarovski®; the boys' skating pants are deliberately crystal-free — warm, matte and understated by design.

Are these for real practice, or just for show?

Real practice. The fabrics are the same technical knits we build training wear from — four-way stretch, quick-dry, brushed warmth — and the crystals are hot-fixed into the knit along movement lines rather than perched on top. It's performance wear that happens to catch the light, not the other way around.

Where can I see the whole collection?

All ten pieces live on The Glide Collection page. It's a limited release — when a size sells through, that's the season.

Don't chase the light

Here's the thing we believe, and the reason this collection exists: the light was never really about the crystals. It's in the kid who gets up at six to skate before school, who falls twelve times and calls it the best day ever. The sparkle just makes visible what was already there.

Every piece, a one-of-a-kind light. Shop The Glide Collection — limited release, now live.
